You know the one: the USS Hornet, the Essex-class carrier that recovered the Apollo 11 crew in July 1969, a museum ship at Alameda Point since 1998.

The USS Hornet, tied up at Alameda Point with planes lined up on the flight deck, in deep blue and gray-green on cream. In July 1969 it picked up the Apollo 11 crew after splashdown in the Pacific. Since 1998 it has been a museum ship on the West End, the biggest neighbor anyone on the island has.

For the space fan, the history buff, and anyone who grew up on the West End, near or far. We ship it straight to them.
